Around Shrivardhan

Shrivardhan is flanked by Harihareshwar and Diveagar on either sides and are about 20 Kms each from Shrivardhan. Both these beaches are known for its temples, Harihareshwar is known as the Dakshin Kashi while Diveagar is renowned for the Suvarna Ganesh Temple. Dighi is a port 15 kms ahead of Diveagar from where you can visit the most famous sea fort in Maharashtra - Murud Janjira.

A very beautiful fort dotting the coastline of the Konkan strip, the fort of Himmatgad, now popularly known as Bankot lies in the northern most end of Ratnagiri and can be reached from Bagmandala 5 kms from Harihareshwar by ferry across the Savitri river.

Kuda Caves
Kuda Caves

Kuda Caves are rock-cut caves built between 1st and 5th century BC. Kuda caves is a group of 13 caves built in two levels. One can find carvings of two elephants at the cave entrance, inscriptions and several stupas of Lord Buddha in the caves. Located near Kolad, it can be reached from Kuda.
