Himmatgad Fort - Bankot
A very beautiful fort dotting the coastline of the Konkan strip, the fort of Himmatgad, now popularly known as Bankot is not a destination thronged by the tourists. Bankot lies in the northern most end of Ratnagiri district and is about 20 kms via the coastal road from Kelshi. From the ferry point at Bankot you can get a ferry to Bagmandala 5 Km from Harihareshwar and visit Diveagar and Shrivardhan too!

Located at just about 5 kms from Kelshi is Ade. Ade is famous for the Parshuram temple or Shree Bhargavram temple. This temple is a complex or a cluster of five temples. The architecture of the temple is from the Peshwa regime. A fleet of stone steps takes one to the temple complex with each facing east. Ade and Chiplun are the two places in Konkan which house a Parshuram temple.

Kanakdurga fort projects into the sea, adjacent to the Harnai port. The fort in ruins now can be approached by a flight of steps. Spread over half an acre the main attraction here is the lighthouse. Kanakdurg can be visited along with the trip to the Harnai fish market. The fish auctions which happen every evening is worth a visit just to experience the magnitude of the event.
