Dabhol by the dabhol creek in itself is a great destination if you are looking for some alone time by the river and sea. However if you want to explore the surrounding areas then there are more destination than you can cover in a weekend! Ferry across the Dabhol creek and you would be greeted by yet another set of tourist destinations like Guhagar, Velneshwar and Hedvi!
Guhagar, is a temple town in Ratnagiri district and in all regards with many outstanding temples in and around lives upto its reputation. Temples committed to various forms of Lord Shiva dots the entire town. Guhagar also is the first amongst the series of true white sand konkan beaches.

On the other side of Dabhol creek in the small village of Anjanvel is the Anjanvel light house. A nice place to visit escpecially in the evening this lighthouse was rebuilt in 1960s. The lighthouse though not very tall (30ft) affords a magnificent view as it is perched upon a steep hillock near the Gopalgad fort.
