Around Anjarle

A very beautiful fort dotting the coastline of the Konkan strip, the fort of Himmatgad, now popularly known as Bankot is not a destination thronged by the tourists. Bankot lies in the northern most end of Ratnagiri district and is about 60 kms via the coastal road from Dapoli. From the ferry point at Bankot you can get a ferry to Bagmandala 5Km from Harihareshwar and visit Diveaga and Shrivardhan too.

Kelshi is a place of religious significance, besides having a long history. Kelshi about 10 Km north from Anjarle is frequented by pilgrims who come to the Mahalaxmi Temple and the Dargah of Yaqub Sarvari - a testimonial to Shivaji's secular outlook.

Just outside the village is a lovely beach, which stretches for 2.5 kms and the sunset here is lauded to be nothing less than spectacular.

Karde 20 Kms from Anjarle is one of the most secluded and tranquil beaches in the entire stretch of Dapoli beaches and extends far upto Burundi and Murud Harnai on either sides. The beach here is a typical Dapoli beach with a thin film of white sand covering the underlying black sand giving it a very romantic appeal.

Karde is an ideal destination to head for a romantic weekend.
