A rare attraction of this place is the Flamingos that can be seen in nearby areas of the seasonal lakes that comes up during monsoons

Trekking in Malshej..

There are nany trekking destinations around Malshej Harishchandragad being the most popular. Jivdhan fort and the Shivneri fort are about 45 minutes drive on opposite direction from Malshej. The Lenyadri caves is another popular spot near Malshej.

Pimpalgaon - Joga dam about 10 minutes from Malshej is a spot that a birdwatcher can not miss. After monsoons flocks of pink legged flamingoes arrive in this region and Malshej becomes the breeding grounds of this exotic avian. Alpine Swift, Purple Moorhen and Green Pigeon can also be spotted in Malshej.
