Around Panhala

The Bison National Park in Dajipur is the primary attraction in Dajipur. The National park is open from November to June and is closed during the rains. Jeep safari in the sanctuary is an exciting option. The Ponda Ghats is another attraction and the view from here is magnificent. The Radhanagri and the Dajipur lakes offer some very calm and soulful moments and makes the whole experience of a treip to Dajipur absolutely fabulous. Dajipur is 100 Kms from Panhala.

Mahimatgad is one of the best Jungle Treks available in the Sahyadris. Nestled amidst thick forest this fort affords views of spotless green canopy from atop the fort. An offbeat trek where rarely anybody visits, you get experience untouched wilderness. A photographers paradise Mahimatgad has many species of butterflies. Kundi the base village of Mahimatgad is approx 90 kms from Panhala.

Pawankhind lies on the way to Vishalgad from Panhala with picturesque terrains all the way. And Pawanakhind replete with history offers a good way to spend a holiday. Pawankhind was earlier named Ghod Khind and Shivaji renamed it to Pawankhind after the epic battle where Baji Prabhu Deshpande with a handful of his men withheld the mighty mughal army to ensure Shivaji's safety.
