Murud-Alibaug

Murud beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Alibaug region. With a vast expanse of soft sand beach with the Murud Janjira silhouting the horizon Murud paints a pretty picture and is a great weekend destination. A temple dedicated to Dattatreya is located atop a hillock in Murud. Though Murud is comparetivly much farther away than other Alibaug beaches the longer travel time is definitely worth the effort.

Murud is approximately 150 Kms from Mumbai and 200 Kms from Pune. One can either take the Alibaug route passing through Kashid to reach Murud Janjira or take the Roha route to reach Murud Janjira directly however distance would remain the same in both the routes. Though Murud Janjia and the beach is approx 60 Kms farther than Alibaug, Murud beach is amongst the best beaches in the region..

Kashid beach tucked between two rocky hillocks on the Alibaug-Murud road is one of the best beaches near Pune and Mumbai. Kashid is just under half an hours drive away from Murud. A long stretch of beach, Kashid stretches almost 2 kms! Kashid with waves much higher than other beaches in Alibaug. Though quite deserted on weekdays, Kashid attracts its fair share of week-end crowd
