Trek Route Vasota

Prior permission from the forest dept is necessary to visit Vasota which can be procured from Bamnoli. The office opens early at 7:30 AM during week ends to help the trekkers. The fees per head to vist Vasota is Rs. 20/-. There are two trek routes to Vasota fort, one from Kusapur and another from MET Indavali. The MET Indavali route is far more frequented than the other and registration at the office has to be done before commencing the trek to Vasota.

Nageshwar cave on the way up to Vasota fort is a must see during a trek to Vasota however the detour would increase the trek by about 3 miles. On entering the fort we see a Hanuman temple, straight ahead of which is the remnants of the fort, the path to of the left of the temple leads to the 'Kalkaiche Thane' and machi which proceeds to the 'Babu kada' reminiscent of 'Konkan kada'

Shivsagar Lake - a 90 km long water body is infact the reservoir of the Koyna dam. If you are a water sports enthusiast Tapola is the place to head to. Be it boating, water scooter rides, kayaking or swimming Tapola will certainly not make you feel confined. Bhairavnat boat club is also slowly catching up as a water sports destination though there is a long way for Bamnoli to catch up with Tapola.
