Trek Route to Rajgad

The trek to Rajgad is an easy to moderately difficult route. The duration of the trek would be approximately 4hrs depending on individuals pace of trek. The Gunjawane 'chor darwaja' route is the most popular trek route to Rajgad which is the shorter trek route, however slightly more difficult than the 'raj marg'. Bale Killa is further ahead and the climb up the Bale Killa though protected with railings is slightly more difficult.

Bale Killa is the highest point on the Rajgad fort. To the Bale Killa also there is more than one route that one can take. The most used path to the Bale Killa is the deviation on the way to 'Suvela machi'. The climb up the Bale Killa is slightly tricky, though protected with railings one needs to be very careful while climbing up the bale killa. From atop the Bale killa one can see the entire Rajgad fort.

'Bale Killa' is the highest part of the fort which has remains of residential buildings, water cisterns and caves. One can see the whole fort and the vast surrounding expanse. Its easy to spot Torna, Sinhagad and Purandar from Bale Killa. There are three plateaus on Rajgad Fort - 'Sanjeevani' 'Suvela' and 'Padmavati'. 'Nedh' giant hole in the rock face carved by the force of wind is on the 'Suvela Machi'.
