Tarkarli is a long stretch of beach which extends from Devbaug beach to its south to Malvan jetty to its north across Wayiri, Dandi beach etc. Due to the popularity of Tarkarli beach all these beaches are also considered as Tarkarli beachby the tourists!
Built between 1664-67 AD by Shivaji Maharaj, the Sindhudurg fort has it foundation laid on molten lead. One of the best preserved sea forts it has a four kms long rampart with 42 bastions. The fort is approachable from the Malvan pier by boat.
Located off the coast of Devbaug half a kilometer from the resort, Tsunami island is the hub of all the water sports activities in Tarkarli. Devbaug sangam where Karli backwaters meets the sea is one of the most picturesque spots near Rajanand palace Beach Resort.
Just Behind the Malvan Police Station, half Kilometer away from Malvan jetty near the Arase Mahal is the Malvan Rock Gardens close to the beach. Malvan Rock Gardens is a beautifuly manicured garden located just by the sea overlooking the Chivla beach.
Quite literally translated as 'Gods Garden' Devbaug is a little peninsular wedged between the arabian sea and Karli backwaters. A tropical paradise Devbaug is covered in coconut palms lined by the white sands of the unending stretch of beach.
A beach that shot up in popularity after M.T.D.C set up a beach resort here, Tarkarli offers an ideal destination for a relaxed weekend away near the beach and also is a good stop over on the way to Goa if you are on a long holiday.
