Pune to Matheran is a straight forward route. Matheran is on an off road from the Mumbai - Pune old highway, once you take the Khopoli exit from the express way carry on towards Mumbai and you will see a sign board towards Matheran on your right. You can also take a train to Karjat or Neral and take the toy train to Matheran if you are going to Matheran on a weekend.
