Alang Fort Trek

Alang fort trek is one of the few treks that you can embark on where rock climbing skills is absolutely essential unless you are trekking in a group. The Alang trek ideally should be attempted only between November - february as it gets extremely hot during summers making it very difficult to hold on to the rocks without gloves. Alang trek shouldn't be attempted during monsoons or just after it.

Trek to Alang Madan and Kulang together cannot be done in less than three days the two pinnacles are done almost always together and although Alang and Kulang are the peaks Madangad almost always steals the limelight especially due to the difficulty of the climb!!

Ratangad Fort

Ratangad a 400 year old fort at 4250ft was as per folklore one of the favourite forts of Shivaji Maharaj. The base village of Ratangad is Ratanwadi about an hours drive away from Bhandardara. On the way to Ratanwadi from Bhandardara is the 8th century Shiva temple - Amruteshwar temple.
