Malvan

There is lots to see in and around Malvan. The Sindhudurg fort in Malvan also a snorkeling site is the primary attraction in Malvan apart from the beaches. The adjoining taluka of Malvan, Devgad has the famous Kunkeshwar temple by the beach and the historic seafort Vijaydurg fort. To the south of Malvan is Vengurla rubbing shoulders with Goa with many more secluded beaches. Vijaydurg fort a historic fort is also worth visiting.

Created overnight because of the Tsunami in 2004 this small island in the Karli backwaters is approximately 25,000 sqft in size. The Tsunami islands has very clear water so dont forget to carry your swimming goggles if not a snorkeling gear. Local boatmen also organizes camp fire and dinner at Tsunami Island specially for your group/family at reasonable rates. Tsunami Island is near Devbaug sangam.

Nivati 15 kms from Malvan has a serene beach with soft silver sands. It is almost enclosed by rock structures wading deep into the sea at both sides making it an almost private beach. The Nivati fort is located nearby. Completely in ruins there aint much to see in the fort apart from its ruined bastions however the view it affords is amazing with the Bhogwe beach on the right and the Nivati beach on the left!
